Though I Am King is a commoner in the realm of perfumery, Combs is a king when it comes to marketing and self promotion; first-year sales of I Am King are expected to exceed $100 million globally.

Sean John I Am King is available at Macy’s through the holidays and will go into broader general release in February of 2009; I Am King Eau de Toilette is $54-72; bath and body products are also available.

The I Am King Scent

The I Am King scent is something fresh and fruity, something that the man going after his dreams can appreciate. This fresh and fruity scent is also accompanied by a slight “woodiness” that adds to the overall sensual fragrance. Wearing the I Am King cologne will make the man feel comfortable, but at the same time it gives off a specific power that will attract countless women.

The top layer of the fragrance is a combination of sensual woods and a twist of fruits. It is not very fruity, but you can definitely smell it. This is due to the wide variety of fruits that are combined in the cologne. There is tangerine zest, juicy orange and succulent cranberry blend mixed with Imperial French Berry which gives this fragrance its magic and surprise.

The heart incorporates the mix of Kir Royal cocktail, currant buds and leaves cream, champagne and cold Mediterranean aquatic notes. All of this combines with the top layer to give I Am King its uniqueness. The wonderful scent begins to take shape and the exotic intensity bursts forth.

The base notes introduce scents of key lime pie, lemon cream, rich labdanum extract, cedar, vetiver, white moss, sandalwood essence and pure powdery accords. This is the final mix in a scent that has reached a different stratosphere. The dark and light elements are exposed and it adds to the smooth and soft skin-like warmth. This just wraps it up and produces a sophisticated and elegant style.

In closing, I Am King by Sean John opens with a blast of citrus, which is not a bit overpowering. There is then a slight muskiness, that gives it that manly feel. Finally there is that mix of smells, Citrussy, Fruity, Woody and Musky, that gives the scent its knockout punch. I Am King is a sure winner and a must have in any mans collection.

Final Analysis

The thoughts based on this cologne is that I Am King is going to be an Instant classic just like it’s counterpart, Unforgivable.

It is a nice masculine fruity fragrance and according to some people, it is better smelling than Sean John’s first hit, Unforgivable. It provides a nice woody scent after the initial burst of citrus.

It is a cologne that should be owned by anyone who is into unusual, different and sexy scents.
